Life - Bruised and Battered

As much as I enjoy playing softball after work, I have shit for luck. Last year I managed to jam one of my fingers catching a ground ball during practice. Continuing the tradition this year, I managed to get a softball to the head during our game yesterday. Just as I'm stepping onto first base, the ball is making its way into the first baseman's mitt then out of the first baseman's mitt and into my jaw.

Pain.

Surprisingly, the left side of my face isn't black and blue today. Sleeping on a cold ice pack seemed to have helped. Regardless, I'm following the mother to work today to get my jaw x-rayed. If there's anything cracked, I'm gonna be pissed.

Movies - Fireworks

Fireworks... one word: outstanding. That is one hell of a movie. If you haven't seen it, go rent it or buy it or something. You just have to see it. From the descriptions on the box, you'd think you're supposed to see some hardcore non-stop blood-n-guts cop flick. Not the case. Not the case in the slightest.

I finally got around to watching it in its entirety last night. Fireworks has a little bit of everything: action, comedy, and drama. I don't want to go into details regarding the plotline for fear of giving anything away, but the fact that Kitano wrote, directed, edited, and starred in this movie gives the whole thing a very personal touch.

Trust me... you just need to see this movie.

This is bad... now that I've watched Fireworks and Brother, I just want more Kitano movies.

Movies - Takeshi Kitano goodness

w007!!@%$!% I just got the two DVDs I order from Amazon in the mail today! More and more Takeshi Kitano goodness to go around. After having watched Zatoichi and Sonatine, I decided to treat myself. Now I've got Brother and Fireworks to watch. I know what I'll be doing tonight. :)

It's not even close to being finished, but I was sick and tired of having to scroll down just to login. I don't know what changed, but something got borked when Firefox 1.0 got released. At any rate, here's something a little different.

Not all the functionality is back as of yet. I'm still re-writing scripts and cleaning up code. It'll be a little while.

If you don't like it... tough.
